A while back, I challenged myself to meet 10 major goals in the space of 10 months. I met some, and didn’t meet others, but wow was it ever a way to get myself organized and working on things I’d put off for far too long. Now that I’ve had a few months worth of a break, I think the re-launch of this site is the perfect way to open up another 10 in 10.
Why 10 in 10? Because at the time I thought that Final Fantasy 14 was coming out in the summer of 2010, and I had 10 months to solidify those goals before I got sucked in again. Side note, the release date is now September 22, 2010. I’m sort of hosed no matter how you look at it at this point, but I’ve decided to suck it up and continue trying to meet these goals. I can take a week off, right?
*Crickets*
So, here we go. Last time I didn’t tell the general public because I was afraid people might think the goals were kind of stupid. This time I’m telling y’all so you can cheer me on, and yell at me when I slack off. That’s the kind of motivation I need ’round these parts.
Goal 1: Increase the amount of inventory in my store to 60 items.
Goal 2: Write 10,000 words every month. I don’t care if they suck, aren’t relevant to my actual novel or what, 10,000. Do or die time here.
Goal 3: Establish and feed a savings account. This one is a carry-over from last time because it didn’t happen when Rob lost his job.
Goal 4: Gym time. Go to the gym at least 3x a week for 10 months.
Goal 5: Read at least one new book a month. I used to love reading and sort of fell off the wagon with it. This will also mean less TV, which is also good.
Goal 6: Quit biting my nails. I’m cheating a bit on this because I gave myself a head start, but still.
Goal 7: Cook a legitimate, filling, healthy dinner at least once a week for me and the boys.
Goal 8: Wake up early enough to walk the dogs before work. No lies, this one will be the hardest.
Goal 9: Clean and dust the house once a week. I generally tidy up, but I mean clean.
Goal 10: Blog at least Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. With pictures whenever possible.
If I complete every single goal, my reward is the next set of tattoos I want. So there we go, it’s out there for the world to see now.
Game on, life.
